Is Benefiber Original Prebiotic Fiber Powder low FODMAP?
FODMAP score

Low FODMAP
Yes — and the 'wheat' in the name is a red herring. Benefiber Original is 100% wheat dextrin, a heavily processed resistant dextrin in which the fructans (and virtually all gluten) that make actual wheat a problem are removed during manufacturing. What's left is a slowly fermented fiber that most people following a low-FODMAP approach handle well at label servings.
What's inside
📏 Start with one label serving a day and build up over a week or two — any fermentable fiber can produce temporary gas while your gut adjusts, even a low-FODMAP one. Stir into still (not carbonated) drinks to avoid foaming.
Gentler alternatives
↳Metamucil (psyllium) — Also low FODMAP; psyllium gels more strongly, which some people prefer for regularity.
↳Plain psyllium husk powder — Single-ingredient, unflavored, and typically cheaper per serving than branded tubs.
↳Chia seeds — A whole-food soluble fiber option that is low FODMAP at a 2-tablespoon serve.
