Is Lily's Chocolate (Stevia Sweetened) low FODMAP?

FODMAP score

82

High FODMAP

No — despite the no-added-sugar halo, most Lily's bars are a high-FODMAP pick. Current labels lead with erythritol and then add chicory root fiber (inulin), a concentrated fructan, with isomalt and skim milk stacking on in the milk-chocolate styles. The stevia itself is harmless; it's the polyol-plus-inulin base doing the sweetening that carries the load.

What's inside

ErythritolThe lead sweetener at several grams per serving; a polyol that pulls water into the gut and may bother sensitive stomachs.
Chicory root fiber (inulin)A concentrated fructan that ferments rapidly; it sits high on the label of most current Lily's bars.
IsomaltA second polyol used in the milk-chocolate-style bars, stacking on top of the erythritol.
Skim milkThe milk-chocolate styles carry lactose; the dark styles are dairy-free.
Stevia extractA non-fermentable, high-intensity sweetener — not the problem here.
Unsweetened chocolateCocoa itself is low FODMAP at a square-or-two portion.

📏 Even a few squares stack erythritol on inulin. The Intensely Dark line (just unsweetened chocolate, erythritol, stevia) drops the chicory root but still carries a large erythritol dose.
