Is Activia Probiotic Yogurt low FODMAP?

FODMAP score

68

Moderate

Mostly no for a standard serving — Activia's classic cups are cultured reduced fat milk, which still carries a few grams of lactose per 4 oz cup despite the gut-friendly branding. Several lines (the Dailies drinks, Zero, and Proactive) also add inulin, a chicory-type fructan that ferments quickly and may bother sensitive guts. The B. lactis probiotic cultures aren't the issue — the milk sugar and, in some lines, the added inulin are.

What's inside

Cultured reduced fat milkThe main lactose source — a 4 oz cup carries roughly 3-4 g of lactose, enough to bother lactose-sensitive guts.
Inulin (Dailies drinks, Zero, and Proactive lines)A chicory-type fructan fiber that ferments rapidly in the gut; check your specific Activia variety, since the classic fruit cups skip it.
Cane sugarPlain sucrose is low FODMAP — it's absorbed without fermenting.
Strawberries / fruit preparationThe berry amounts used per cup sit comfortably in low-FODMAP territory.
B. lactis live culturesThe probiotic bacteria themselves are not FODMAPs; fermentation even chips away a little of the milk's lactose.
PectinA gelling fiber used at trace levels that doesn't add meaningful FODMAP load.

📏 One 4 oz cup delivers roughly 3-4 g of lactose — near the top of the moderate range. The drinkable Dailies, Zero, and Proactive versions add inulin on top, pushing them higher.
