Usually it's a portion difference, not a disagreement. This page scores kiwi at a serving of 2 small peeled kiwifruit (150 g); at more than about 2 1/2 kiwifruit (180 g) it belongs in the high band. A source quoting the larger serve will call it high, and one quoting the smaller will call it low — the same food, measured at two different amounts.
Based on published FODMAP research and reviewed reference data. Informational only — not medical advice. Tolerance is individual; verify with a dietitian during the elimination phase.
How much is OK?
This food's verdict depends on the serving. The bands below show where the load builds, group by group.
Fructans
One of the roomier fruits: two peeled medium kiwi sit comfortably low. Fructans are what rise beyond that, and the varieties differ - gold-fleshed kiwi start climbing at around 180 g while green-fleshed have been measured as staying clear to roughly 275 g, so this grid uses the tighter gold figure. Very ripe, soft fruit is sweeter but no more forgiving; dried kiwi concentrates the sugars roughly 4-5x by weight and falls outside these numbers entirely.
Bands reflect published FODMAP research for typical preparations — individual tolerance varies, especially mid-reintroduction.
