Is nori low FODMAP?
FODMAP score
8
Low FODMAP
Yes — Nori is low FODMAP in normal servings and is generally well tolerated by people with IBS.
Low-FODMAP serving
2 full sheets (about 5 g)
Nori is a red seaweed rather than a brown one, so it lacks the mannitol that limits kelp and wakame; published testing puts a 2-sheet serve in the low range with no upper cut-off established. The wrapper on a sushi roll, onigiri or gimbap is not the part of the dish that carries FODMAPs.
Based on published FODMAP research and reviewed reference data. Informational only — not medical advice. Tolerance is individual; verify with a dietitian during the elimination phase.
