FODMAP food guide
Is protein coffee low FODMAP?
FODMAP score
50
Moderate
In small portions — Protein Coffee is moderate in FODMAPs. Portion size decides whether it triggers symptoms.
Low-FODMAP serving
1 cup (250 ml) made with whey isolate and lactose-free or almond milk
Becomes high FODMAP at
475 ml or more made with regular milk, whey concentrate, or a powder listing inulin
The coffee is not the variable - the protein and the milk are. Whey isolate, rice or egg protein with lactose-free or almond milk keeps it low, while whey concentrate, the milk protein concentrate in most ready-to-drink cans, and regular milk all add lactose, and any powder sold as 'prebiotic' usually carries inulin or chicory root fructans.

Usually it's a portion difference, not a disagreement. This page scores protein coffee at a serving of 1 cup (250 ml) made with whey isolate and lactose-free or almond milk; at 475 ml or more made with regular milk, whey concentrate, or a powder listing inulin it belongs in the high band. A source quoting the larger serve will call it high, and one quoting the smaller will call it low — the same food, measured at two different amounts.
